IN THE CITY | CALIFORNIA

On the Road

Every journey has its own light, rhythm, and sense of movement.
This time, the Aest Studios team brought our bags to California — from the streets of Los Angeles, to the Getty Museum, and into the open landscapes of Joshua Tree.
Here, the bag moved with us: carried on the road, set down for a moment, and picked up again along the way.
In California, city and nature feel closely connected. Roadside stops, palm trees, mountain lines, and desert light all became part of the story.

Between City and Landscape

Unlike Paris, California moves with a more open rhythm.
It happens on the road, outside museums, beside desert plants, and in the quiet pauses between destinations.
Through this series, we wanted to show how an everyday leather bag exists within a real journey — carried through city streets, placed by the roadside, and brought into the landscape.
Not as a styled object, but as something that travels with you.

Light, Space, and Movement

California is often defined by light and space.
At the Getty Museum, white architectural surfaces reflected the sun. In Joshua Tree, the desert brought stillness. In Los Angeles, cars, shadows, palm trees, and warm afternoon light created a sense of everyday movement.
In these settings, the leather texture, bag structure, and fall of the strap become more visible.
This is what Aest Studios continues to explore through “IN THE CITY”: how a bag becomes part of real life, not only part of a campaign image.

A Bag That Travels With You

From city streets to open landscapes, from planned destinations to unexpected stops, we believe a bag should move with the changing pace of the day.
It can be carried to work, taken on a trip, worn through the city, or brought into a more open natural setting.
“IN THE CITY | CALIFORNIA” is a travel diary from the Aest Studios team — a record of how our bags moved with us through Los Angeles, the Getty Museum, Joshua Tree, and the spaces in between.
In California, the bag traveled with us through city, architecture, and desert landscape, capturing the light, space, and freedom of the journey.
