Throughout her career, she identified a gap in how conventional design practices address subtle, unspoken needs—those critical yet invisible requirements that shape our daily experiences.
From the height of furniture and the spacing of chairs and staircases to public spaces like restrooms, the lack of nurturing environments, and even standard room temperatures, Vanessa saw how traditional standards frequently disregard diverse perspectives, leaving fundamental needs unmet.
Our story begins on the iconic White Cliffs of Dover, where the ocean breeze carries the scent of salt and freedom, and the boundless beauty of nature unfolds. In this moment of tranquility, she encountered an unexpected challenge: her trusted camera and drone—companions of countless adventures—lacked a safe, elegant place to call home. The bag she carried, though stylish, offered little protection, while traditional camera bags felt uninspired, sacrificing grace for practicality.
Amidst the mountains and sea, she had a revelation: we needed a bag that effortlessly combined functionality with the sophistication of design and the charm of fashion.
Inspired by the modernist architect Louis Sullivan’s iconic maxim, “Form follows function”—the principle that design should always serve its purpose—she began to envision how this idea could redefine the world of fashion. Why shouldn’t aesthetics and functionality exist in perfect harmony, elevating one another? With this question as her guide, she embarked on a journey to craft a new design language where fashion and practicality intertwine effortlessly, creating a balance of style and purpose—Fashion follows function.
